Student Pickup Procedures

Dear ISL parents,

We need your help to improve our pick-up process.

Please do not arrive too early as the traffic backs up onto Hartwood Marsh. Our recent traffic pattern is delaying our school busses, and could block access for emergency vehicles. The traffic is also prompting some parents to park on the grass and walk onto campus (which violates safety procedures).

Please be considerate of each other and practice the following guidelines:

Kindergarten parents arrive no earlier than 2:35 (1:35 Wed) and use the left lane to line up in. The pick-up lane opens at that time, and traffic may proceed around the loop.

1st - 8th parents arrive no earlier than 2:50 (1:50 Wed). The kindergarten lane should be moving, so you may start to line up, behind the stop sign, in the right driveway lane.  The pick-up lane opens at 3:00 (2:00 Wed).

• If you are in the right driveway lane, please allow Kindergarten parents from the left lane, to pull into the car loop ahead of you.

• Please DO NOT park and walk up to pick up your child.

Let’s keep the traffic moving by NOT backing up the driveway! Thank You!!!!

The following are important details found in The Navigator (parent/ student handbook), and should be observed during dismissal:

• The cut off for check outs through the office is 2:15 p.m. (1:15 p.m. on Wednesdays). Parents arriving after this time should proceed to the carline.

• Parents are not permitted to pick-up students outside the classroom or hallways; please pick them up in the front office.

• Kindergartners and siblings, walkers, bus riders and day care vans are dismissed at 2:45 p.m. (1:45 p.m. on Wednesdays).

• ALL other students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays).

• If you are dropping off/picking up your student using the car rider line, please proceed with caution to the waiting staff personnel. Please remain in your vehicle to help expedite this process.

Car tags are required and must be visible if you are picking up your student using the car rider line. For safety, your student may not enter the vehicle until a staff member or a Student Safety Patrol opens the door and directs the student to the vehicle.

• As a further safety precaution, students will not be released from the car rider line area to parents walking up from the parking lot. You must remain in your vehicle in the car rider line in order to pick up your student.

• Parents are not permitted to drop students off (or pick-up) by the roadway on the grass, in the parking lot, or in the bus line.
